W moved to Collingwood in Vancouver, and this butcher shop stood out, purely because of its name: Beefway Meats. This was the first piece of art I made after returning to Vancouver from Ireland. Unfortunately, I painted it on the back of another image, so I’ll probably return to it again in the future. If you look at this area in real life, you’ll see I simplified the background by removing some images. I almost added them but realized that the scene would have been far too busy otherwise. Made with poster paints and rembrant chalk pastel.
